MEASUREMENT OF LINEAR VIBRATIONS / VIBRATION DIAGNOSTICS
MEASUREMENT OF RADIAL AND LINEAR VIBRATIONS / VIBRATION DIAGNOSTICS

For the purposes of understanding the proposed service, we will apply the concepts:
- "vibration measurement" is a one-time measurement of vibration with the applicable standardization in ISO standards, in States’ and industry standards, and in the rules of classification societies;
- "vibration diagnostics" is a one-time or multiple measurement of vibration data with the identification of defects and their type by pulses, spectra and using various techniques.
A significant difference for the purposes of understanding the service offered by our laboratory can be given to the concept of "VIBRATION MONITORING" – which has an expanded meaning of a permanent or repeatedly applied most characteristic method of vibration diagnostic research for a certain type of mechanism/unit using a Digital Health Vibro-Monitoring Set.
Essentially measuring linear vibrations / vibration diagnostics
Measuring the vibrations of pumping units and separators allows you to identify cavitation, imbalance, damage to mechanical parts, wear of bearings and seals.
Summarizing the vibration measurements of rotary type mechanisms, we can say that this type of defect detection in the early stages is the most developed and may be used on a one–time basis.
Vibration diagnostics of internal combustion engines (ICE) is a more complex process than diagnostics of bearings due to the presence of reciprocating and rotating parts of the mechanism, which requires periodic monitoring, which allows you to diagnose malfunctions in the lubrication system, balancing, injection system, detect unacceptable detonations, as well as detect mechanical damage (cracks, wear). Vibration diagnostics of the internal combustion engine helps to monitor the condition of the engines, identify malfunctions and plan timely maintenance.
According to classification society regulations, vibration measurement of ship mechanisms must be performed following modernization of inservice vessels, particularly when replacing main and auxiliary engines, generators, and other primary mechanisms.
Vibration diagnostics is performed to monitor the technical condition of hull structure elements, including outer shell plating, structural members, and other components, as well as main and auxiliary mechanisms.
- Early detection of defects: vibration diagnostics allows you to identify malfunctions at an early stage, when they have not yet led to serious breakdowns.
- Reduced repair costs: early detection of defects allows timely repairs, which significantly reduces repair costs and prevents downtime of the vessel.
- Improved safety of navigation: vibration diagnostics allows timely detection of malfunctions that can lead to an accident.
- Forecasting the service life of equipment: vibration diagnostics allows you to determine the condition of equipment and predict its service life.
Vibration diagnostics provided by our company is a crucial instrument for maintaining safety and operational reliability of watercraft. It facilitates early detection of defects, cost reduction for repairs and maintenance, and prolongation of equipment lifespan. Continuous assessment of bearings, engines, turbines, pumps, compressors, and other elements ensures rapid problem resolution and uninterrupted vessel performance.
